Haikou MSA Rescues a Stranded Singapore Dangerous Chemical Carrier

The Singapore-flagged "WHITE CATTLYA 12" carrying 4,500 tons of ethylene glycol ran aground when berthing at Xinhaiminsheng Terminal at Haikou on August 17. With the emergency rescue of Haikou MSA, this vessel got out of danger in the morning of August 18.
 
At 14:15 August 17, the command center of Haikou MSA received a report, saying that the Singapore-flagged "WHITE CATTLYA 12" ran aground No. 4 buoy in the channel when entering Xinhaiminsheng Terminal. There were 18 crew members on board.
 
After receiving the report, Haikou MSA started to organize the rescue. It asked Hainan Harbor and Shipping Holdings and Haikou Base of Nanhai Rescue Bureau to send out tug boats "QIONG YIN 6", "QIONG YIN 3" and rescue ship "NAN HAI JIU 115" to the scene.
 
Hainan MSA's Deputy Director Zhan Jie directed the rescue at the site, requiring the pilot, rescue and relevant units to get a clearer understanding of the grounding situation of "WHITE CATTLYA 12" so as to make the rescue plan.
 
At 09:40 next day, "WHITE CATTLYA 12" got out of danger with the high tide after 19 hours’ rescue.
