A Safety Reminder for Ships to Fend off Pirates
 
Recently, a spate of pirate attacks and rackets occur in the north of Seychelles in the Indian Ocean.According to evaluation, the sea condition in the Gulf of Aden in the Somalia Seas and in the Indian Ocean is favorable for piracy by speedboat, and there is a high risk of pirate attack.in the areas mentioned above. The safety notice for ships sailing in the areas mentioned above on fending off piracy is publicized as follows:
 
1.    Ships which will pass through the Gulf of Aden shall navigate at areas under the naval fleets' escort and apply for escort as much as possible.
 
2.    Ships which will navigate southward or northward through the Indian Ocean, shall keep their position at east of 60 degrees east longitude; ships heading from South Africa for Asia are suggested navigating southward of Mauritius.
 
3.    Ships shall keep their maximum possible distance with suspicious ships.
 
4.    Ships navigating in the areas mentioned above shall keep high alert on pirates, monitor piracy around the clock and actively adopt anti-pirate measures.
 
5.    Ship agencies or ships shall immediately report to China Maritime Search and Rescue Center once they discover suspicious situations or are attacked by pirates.
