Dredging at Waigaoqiao Terminal
1. Date: with effect from July 24 to September 30, day and night operation.
2. Working areas: waters 320 long along Shanghai Orient Terminal and 485m extended to the center of the river.
3. Details: Shanghai Tongling Dredging Engineering Co. Ltd. will be in charge of the project. 30.5m-long and 15m wide dredger "TONG LING SHU 801" and 40m-long and 15m-wide "TONG LING SHU 802" will dredge from the upper stream to the lower stream 80-100m off the wharf apron. The working vessels will cast V-shaped anchors and cross anchors in working waters with 100-m cable. Another dredger "TONG LING SHU 1301", 48.8m long and 18.3 m wide, will be tied to the terminal, and cast V-shape anchors with the cable of 80m and the distance between the anchors. A cross anchor will be cast with the cable of 80m. Dredged soil will be cast in the spoil area in the north of Wusongkou by split dump barges.
4. Notice:
A. Working vessels should display working signals in accordance with relevant regulations. There should be obvious marks of the hawsers' water-entry direction in the daytime and lights on them at night.
B. Working vessels should strengthen lookout, and keep a listening watch on VHF 06.
C. Split dump barges shall take avoidance initiatively when crossing the channel.
D. The passing vessels should sail slowly 200m away from the furthest anchor.
E. When the wind is over class6 and the visibility is less than 1000 m, the operation will be stopped, and working vessels shall leave the working waters.
