  • 1. Maritime Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China
The law was adopted at the Second Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National People's Congress, promulgated by Order No. 7 of the President of the People's Republic of China on September 2, 1983, and effective as of January, 1, 1984. it prescribes Inspection and Registration of Vessels; Personnel on Vessels and Installations; Navigation, Berthing and Operations; Safety Protection; Transport of Dangerous Goods; Rescue from Disasters at Sea; Salvage and Removal of Sunken and Drifting Objects; Investigation and Handling of Traffic Accidents; Legal Liability; Special Provisions and Supplementary Provisions.

The law was adopted and promulgated at the 13th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National People's Congress on Dec 25th, 1999, and effective as of Apr 1st, 2000.
