  • Notice on the Implementation of IMSBC Code
The amendments to Chapter VI and VII of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974, as amended and the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes Code (hereinafter referred to as “IMSBC Code”) were adopted in the 85th session of MSC of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and will enter into force on 1 January 2011. Since China is the contracting State to the Convention, the aforementioned amendments and the IMSBC Code shall enter into force in China on 1January 2011. In order to implement IMSBC Code, the following requirements shall be complied with:

  • 4. Rules for the Control of Non-military Vessels of Foreign Nationality Passing through the Qiongzhou Strait
On April 17, 1985, upon approval of the State Council and the Central Military Commission, this Article was amended as follows: "Non-military vessels of foreign nationality may pass through the Strait upon receiving notice of approval, but their speed may not exceed 10 knots when they are navigating into and within the administrative area."
