  • China Gets Significant Progress in International Maritime Standards Setting

    Recently, the third conference of Navigational Safety, Communications and Search and Rescue sub-committee (NCSR) of International Maritime Organization (IMO) was hold in London. The proposal, Draft Proposal of New Standard Module on Performance of Integrated Navigation System, around the E Maritime Strategy, submitted by Chinese delegation, has got extensive recognition. Delegates reached a general consensus that the new standard module of making and perfection will be coordinated by China (as the Communication coordinator).

    For the first time, China has been nominated as the lead coordinator since the past decades of promoting E-Maritime Strategy by IMO. It indicated that China’s research on E-Navigation strategic areas has reached an extensive and deep degree,gained recognition from international companions and raised China’s voice in international maritime affairs.

    As one of the five priority tasks in advancing E-navigation strategy, formulating and improvement of the comprehensive navigation system performance standard is highly concerned by China MSA.The proposal, Draft Proposal of New Standard Module on Performance of Integrated Navigation System, was submitted and joint drafted by Shenzhen MSA (NCSR Sub-Committee Secretariat of International Maritime Research Council) and Dalian Maritime University.
