  • Xu Ruqing delivered China MSA management speech at IMO Headquarters

     

     

    Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) 97th session was organized from November 21-24,2016 at IMO Headquartersin London.Xu Ruqing, head of the Maritime Safety Administration of the People’s Republic of China (China MSA) attended the meeting and delivered a speech. IMO Secretary-General Kitack Lim, IMO Member States and 260 delegates from various maritime-related institutions, academia participated the meeting.

    IMO – the International Maritime Organization – is the United Nations specialized agency with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine pollution by ships. Xu Ruqing’s speech about maritime management is the first time for being invited by IMO. Xu Ruqing put great emphasis on three topics, which focused on maritime change, share and development. After the speech, Kitack Lim asked a question about China maritime search and rescue work. The delegates from Canada, India, Ireland exchanged warmly about accident investigation and seafarers training and certificates.
