  • DNV CEO&President Visits China Maritime Safety Administration

    On the afternoon of April 12, 2023, E Hailiang, Deputy Director General, China Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) met in Beijing with a delegation led by Remi Eriksen, DNV CEO&President.
     
     
    E Hailiang warmly welcomed Eriksen’s visit and conveyed greetings from Li Guoping, Chief Safety Supervisor, Ministry of Transport and Director General, China MSA. He stated that China MSA attaches great importance to communication and cooperation with classification societies, including DNV. As the world’s largest classification society, DNV is a global leader not only in the field of ship certification and inspection, but also in many service fields such as technical services and energy consulting. He hopes that both parties can strengthen communication, deepen consensus, and promote better cooperation in the future. President Eriksen thanked the leaders of China MSA for taking the time to meet and stated that DNV attaches great importance to its business development in China. He thanked China MSA for its guidance and support over the years and looked forward to participating more in the transformation and upgrading of China’s shipping industry and shared DNV’s mature experience and technology.
     
    The two sides had specific exchanges on topics such as maritime safety, digital shipping, and green and low-carbon transformation of shipping. E Hailiang reported on the implementation of port state inspections on ships in DNV class. Eriksen introduced the progress and experience of DNV in fields such as digital shipping and new energy equipment technology. Both sides stated that this meeting is pragmatic and efficient, and they will continue to strengthen communication and cooperation in the future, continuously improving the level of green and intelligent development of shipping safety.
     
    The meeting was accompanied by personnel from the Office of European, American and African Affairs, Department of of International Cooperation, Ministry of Transport, the Ship Department, the Ship Survey Department and the International Department, China MSA.
